


The Schwarze Elster originates from the northern edge of the Sybillenstein near Elstra and flows after 188 km downriver into the Elbe.Īlong the path there are some back waters where you can find domestic animals and plants. You will see the changing natural scenery – a mixture of open grassland and forest. The tour leads you directly along the course of the river Schwarze Elster. The Elsterradtour (Elster Cycle Tour) continues with the Frankenhainer and Prießener heath to Doberlug-Kirchhain and its glorious Cistercian minster. From Herzberg the way leads to the Fläming-Skate and to the Körbaer Lake which is a popular destination for nature lovers. The planetarium offers impressive events under the starry sky. Your next stop might be Herzberg - the church Marienkirche and the Botanical Gardens are worth a visit. In summer we advice to make a stop at the recreation area “Kiebitz” with a wonderful swimming lake, hidden coves and crystal-clear water. In Wahrenbrück the “Kleiner Spreewald” invites for a punt. The “Lausitztherme Wonnemar” provides relaxation with a big spa and sauna programm.įrom Bad Liebenwerda the cycle path leads all the way along the “Schwarze Elster” to Herzberg.
